Time Now for a Happy Re-Cap
An explanation of what happened yesterday, the mainstream media wants a Democrat in the White house. They don't care if it is Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama, John Edwards or Joy Bahar. As long as a Democrat wins, they will feel as if they have done their job and they will be happy.
Journalists are left leaning people. This should be of no surprise or of concern to any of us. Everyone is allowed to have their point of view and positions on issues. The problem is when it makes its way into their reporting. The slant and choice of which stories make their way to the six o'clock news and therefore the public discourse can really shape an election and the direction of our nation.
One of the best attributes of liberals is their blind optimism and belief that the world and its people are good and well meaning. Unfortunately they also think that in order to keep things moving in the right direction that they need a rich white person to oversee the entire operation. Couple this with the liberal overwhelming need to "Make a difference" or "Change the world" and you are left with an intrusive journalistic pool who need to do whatever they can to put a lib in power.
Back to yesterday, when Obama won in Iowa they saw a candidate who was able to upset the front runner. Couple this with an institutionalized condensation towards blacks and they were thrilled at just how much this young, black man was able to achieve. Their excitement naturally spilled into their reporting. They started calling him a rock star and a man on a mission. They compared his performance with John F. Kennedy (the highest compliment a liberal can give) and were ready to anoint him president on the spot.
The problem was that the people of New Hampshire didn't get the memo that the the election was over and Barak won. They decided, much to the dismay of Tim Russert and Chris Matthews, that they were going to make up their own minds. They decided on Hillary.
This probably upset the reporters for as long as it took for them to realize that they didn't really loose anything. They realized that they still have two dogs in this fight; a rock star and a comeback kid. So they just started to focus more on Hillary and less on Obama. They will do this flip flop until either is the clear winner. Until then, they will switch back and forth and whoever is in front will get the air time.
All their excitement has caused one problem. With all the focus on the great Democratic candidates that have not spent much time bashing the Republican Party. They still make their snide little comments but for the most part they just keep stepping over themselves to see who can "make a difference" or "change the world" more.
